Terms of Service
Last updated: June 3, 2026
These Terms govern your purchase and use of Muni. By buying or using Muni, you agree to them. Please read the Refund Policy and Privacy Policy too; they are part of these Terms.
1. Who we are
Muni (“Muni,” “we,” “us”) is a macOS dictation application. You can reach us at support@usemuni.app.
2. What Muni is
Muni is a downloadable application for Apple Silicon Macs (M1 or newer) running macOS Sonoma (14) or later. You hold a hotkey, speak, and Muni turns your speech into clean text wherever your cursor is.
Muni works on a bring-your-own-keys (BYOK) basis. It connects to third-party API services that you sign up for and control with your own API keys. Your audio is sent directly from your Mac to those services under your own accounts. We never receive, see, or store your audio or transcripts.
3. Price and what you pay
- Muni costs ₱997, a one-time fee for a license to use the app. There is no recurring charge from us.
- The ₱997 covers Muni only. It does not cover your usage of the third-party API services, which you pay directly to those providers based on your own use (typically a small amount). Their pricing and free-credit offers are set by them and may change.
- Prices are shown in Philippine pesos. Applicable taxes may be added at checkout depending on your location and our payment provider.
4. Payment
Payments are processed by our third-party payment provider. Depending on the provider, it may act as the merchant of record for your purchase and may appear on your card or bank statement instead of “Muni.” Your payment is also subject to that provider’s terms. We do not store your full card details.
5. Your license
On payment, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to download and use Muni for your own purposes on Macs you own or control. You may not:
- resell, sublicense, rent, or redistribute Muni;
- copy, decompile, reverse-engineer, or modify the app except where the law expressly permits;
- remove or alter any proprietary notices; or
- use Muni to break the law or to violate the terms of the third-party services it connects to.
We own all intellectual property in Muni. This license does not transfer ownership.
6. Your responsibilities
- You are responsible for creating and securing your own accounts and API keys for the third-party services Muni uses, and for all usage costs they charge.
- You are responsible for the content you dictate and for complying with any laws that apply to it.
- You must meet the system requirements above for Muni to work.
7. Refunds
Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
8. Disclaimers
Muni is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that Muni will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly accurate in transcription, or that the third-party services it relies on will always be available. Muni depends on third-party API services, your network, and Apple’s platform, which are outside our control.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to Muni is limited to the amount you paid us for the app. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for third-party charges (including third-party API usage). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The current version, with its effective date, is always posted on this page. Continued use of Muni after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes are subject to the courts of the Philippines, unless mandatory consumer-protection law gives you other rights.
